You are fired!

I am a big fan of "Apprentice", partly because I am a big fan of fortune and vanity. (Don't we all!) Donald Trump's charisma is another reason that makes me vegetate in front of TV for a whole hour. This guy is rich, smart, single with a beautiful GF. Although he is not as rich as that computer geek arithmetically, his popularity Trumps by and large.
Last Thursday was a bad day for Andy, who was eaten alive in the boardroom. For every episode, the opening scene always gives you a clue for the outcome. This time it is very instructive. "The leader that wants to be popular, that wants to be loved, that leader ultimately is not gonna make it.", Donald Trump spelled out these words when he was commenting on the title " Form you own opinion". In my opinion, Andy was fired largely because he was not be able to defend himself and out-tough the other two shrews in the boardroom. Although he did try to form an alliance with Jen before he entered the boardroom, he lost control totally in the end. I saw him shaking his head hopelessly during the last moment recrimination. Maybe sometimes what matters most is not what you did, but how many fingers are pointing at you.
People get more and more garrulous when they drift to the old age. I am no exception to that. Words pile up and eventually some of them wind up here. The stuff I dump in this site will be, as I plan to, a hodgepodge of tech, movie comments, recipes, or, gripes. But don't misread that. I am neither a computer geek nor a move buff or epicure. I am just a geezer that babbles a lot, a dinosaur who likes to flaunt his head and an Average Joe with a simple way of life.
They say that one man's limerick is another's clue trail. I do hope you could find the latter somewhere here. Speaking of which, this blog accepts anonymous comments. You are more than welcome to drop a line or few. After all, monologue is a dull play.
This blog has been "Under Construction" for 6 months. "It may take forever if you don't do something!" I said to myself. So I spent this thanksgiving to "Construct" seriously. At first, I thought it would be a piece of cake, but it turns out the cake is not so creamy. The tables and cells do not align, the IE and Firefox have different takes on the same HTML. (You may still see the nuance if you visit this blog with these two browsers at the same time). The shade looks ugly. I have to spare some of my turkey time to get it done.
Speaking of turkey, I did some experiment on its cooking as well. The outcome is much worse than the blog construction trouble. The recipe may tell you how to do it, but that's only half the battle.
Maybe that is the word my boss parrots to me on daily basis. "Knowhow". No matter how straightforward a job may look like, whether it be web design or turkey cooking, chances are there might be "Knowhow", sometimes lots of them, lurking in the dark and waiting for you to pay tribute to them, like the turkey still in my fridge...
