Saw an article on CTrip Magazine. Although it is more or less like the wording of a high school student, it serves well as a start point to get to know San Francisco.
Speaking of which, San Francisco is the place to be if I have to pick only one major city within US territory. No doubt that I would remember it fondly.

Response to Mas

*) Anyone read Mas' recent blog would come away with the impression that he is so head over heels in love with his Mrs. Right. (Ref[1]). He proves once again that an adult man can as well be smart, spoony and sweet, or even sycophant, at the same time.
*) I have never realized his deep-in-love could also have collateral damage on me until my name was raised yesterday. (Ref[2])
*) I am not big on game. The topic is too pandemic for me to talk about. But if there is anything to begin with, I wish SHE would choose to bet on me all the time even if the odds says otherwise.

Hats Off to Mr. Safai

Mansour Safai, I learned this Iranian name first-time-last-time in this month's SD Times, but I can still vaguely recall the GUI of his Visual Cafe when I was learning JAVA at college. It is always lamentable to see someone left this world so soon. It is more so to learn first hand the brevity of life. Hats off to those pioneers who's dedicated their passion and love to the blessing of the whole industry.

Bay Bridge and Buy American
|

US folks are lovely people. They are open minded and they play by the rules. Of course, rules are to their advantage most of the time. However, like any other human beings, they throw tantrums when things don't go their way.
One of these instances can be aptly found in yesterday's ABC7 news(Ref[1]) : The high possibility to use Chinese steel on Bay Bridge unnerved some protectionists.
However, I just learned from the news that there is even a law called "Buy American Act". I am not in the best position to argue the legality of this law under WTO treaty(Ref[2][3]). However, as I recall, US is constantly accusing China of subsidizing its nascent semiconductor industry. No doubt that's American way to deal with the rest of the world: Climb on the high horse, even self-servingly.
Don't throw stones at your neighbors', if your own windows are glass.

The following is an email I received this morning:
http://rabbithole.hax4.googlepages.com/phishingEmail.html
Looks like somebody is short of cash. Human nature never ceases to amaze me. I am honored that somebody is willing to go this far to dupe me. It leads me to a site http://jpmchase-cardholder.com
(Do some WHOIS search to see who that domain name is registered to.)
The web site is an exquisite simulacrum of www.chase.com. Here is the username and password to my banking account:
User ID: hahahaha Password: gotcha
Did you see the gauge moving forward when loading my account? So cool. But soon after that, the guy lost his cool and showed his true color:
If you happen to have a ATM/DEBIT card handy, do me a favor : fill in these blanks for me :-)
I made a supplemental site to this blog:
http://rabbithole.hax4.googlepages.com/index.html
It is still under construction as we speak.
One of the hitches about Google Page is that I have no way to replace the starting page. And the starting page has to be done by the Page Creator, which now looks more like Power Point than Frontpage. My attempt to automatically redirect the starting page was also foiled by Google fairly recently.
